Summer catch-up

Well, props to those that can actually keep up on their blogs during the summer. We've been pretty busy and I won't bore everyone with too much detail, but I'll provide enough pictures to give you all a glimpse into what we did this summer.  This is probably going to take a couple posts, so here is July!
At the 3rd of July Parade
Eating a Big Bopper
Watching the Fireworks
Lighting our own fireworks on the 4th
Sparklers
Trenton did the parent/tot swimming lessons at Apple Athletic and loved it!  He did extremely well!
He loves the noodle!
Lifejacket safety
Dunking his head--he hated me doing it to him, but loved to put his head under and blow out bubbles.
Making a rope at the Rainsdon Reunion
The finished product!
Floating the river.  Don't worry, this was on the edge.  We were with him in the tube when we actually floated!
We loved the Blue Angels air show, but not so much the no food/no drink policy.
and there they are
Dinner at Mack's Inn for the Hardcastle Reunion
Our anniversary was the day before we went to Mack's Inn,
so when they asked who was celebrating I raised my hand.
Little did I know they'd make us dance in front of everyone!
Trenton and cousin Riley attacking Nyk in the water.
Nyk wakeboarding for the first time in a few years.  He did really well, but was sure sore!
Shooting guns
Trenton with his earmuffs on.  Those shotguns are loud!  Even Karlee thought so.
Getting ready to catch the candy shot out of a candy cannon.

Summer Fun is Finally Here!

So, I'm a little behind posting about some of the fun things we've been doing. Summer is finally her and we've been spending a lot of our days out playing in the water. Here are a few pics of our fun.

We bought some smokeballs to test Trenton out on fireworks and he loved them! I'm so excited for Saturday when we'll light off some really cool ones. I think Trenton's going to have a blast.

Trenton played in the pool at Grandma's with his cousin Riley. They had way too much fun popping water balloons!

Yesterday, my cousin, sister-in-law and aunts brought their kids to play at the Splash Park and my mom and siblings came along for the fun. I enjoyed it as much as Trenton and the kids did since it was so stinkin' hot. Somehow I only made it out with one picture though!

Vegas!!

So, we decided to celebrate our 4th anniversary 1 1/2 months early since Nyk had a conference for work in Las Vegas this past week and if I came along the only thing we'd have to pay for is my plane ticket (which wasn't much thanks to Alegiant's Idaho Falls to Vegas cheap flight). This meant spending Sunday night until Thursday night without Trenton!! I've never even left him over night before! I have to say it was one of the hardest things I've ever done, but it was good for all of us. Trenton got spoiled so much by Grandma that he didn't want to come home. While in Vegas we got to stay in Treasure Island, which was very nice and I got to accompany Nyk to some of the conference things which was nice. We definitely didn't get to do and see everything we wanted to, but we had a great time just the two of us. Highlights include: 4th row seats to Phantom of the Opera (amazing), going through an endowment session in the Las Vegas temple (relaxing and peaceful), and visiting the Hoover Dam (mind-boggling). Here are a few pics from the fun.

Let's Go Fly a Kite

So, Trenton is not doing so well with the potty training lately, but a few weeks ago he finally went poop on the potty. Granted it was only an inch long, but he worked pretty hard for it. So, Trenton got to go pick out a kite at Wal-mart. It's been hanging in his room every since because of rain and being busy, but a couple days ago we finally got out to fly it in our yard and he loved it. I think I enjoyed it even more than he did. I haven't flown a kite since I was little! Anyway, I got some cute pics.
