Picture update!

Here are some random pictures to catch you up on the happenings of February.Trenton likes to sit his stuffed animals up to the table and "eat lunch" with them. What a cutie!While I was upstairs printing stuff off Trenton took every item out of the refrigerator door and meticulously lined it up along the table. Trenton loves to eat "clean snow" even though he doesn't look so happy in this picture. Trenton finally getting to hold his cousin Natalie! He hasn't really held her since. Lazy Sunday Evening

So, Sunday evenings usually involve doing whatever Trenton wants to do, which is usually hide-and-seek or building with blocks. Trenton loves the mega bloks, but I think Nyk and I love them just as much, maybe more. Here's a winding staircase that Nyk accomplished with a little help from Trenton and I. A few times we had to snatch needed blocks from Trenton's tower and replace it without him seeing. I know we're horrible!! Trenton mostly played in his tent and tunnel and then knocked it down when we told him he could.

Brilliant Idea!

So, lately I've been feeling like I never get anything done, because Trenton is always trying to pull me away from the dishes, the cleaning, the cooking, the laundry, ect. I feel like I spend all day doing these things and not doing what I want to do or spend enough time playing with Trenton.
I finally came up with the solution and I thought I would share, my wonderful, but simple idea . . . let Trenton help me with the chores! I found that Trenton actually really loves to help me, and he's finally at an age that he can actually do some good. The other great plus is that he's learning how to do chores and we get to spend time with each other.
Last night after dinner, he wanted me to play with him and I told him we needed to clear the table before I could, so he brought me the stuff from the table while I put all the food in containers and rinsed the dishes. He even helped put the food in the fridge. This morning he wanted to watch Madagascar. I told him that we had to get the dishes done first, but he could help me. He pulled a chair over and took all the dishes from the rinse water and put them in the strainer. I only had to fix a few and direct him a little. It was awesome. I of course didn't get it done quite as fast, but faster then if he would have been pulling on my pants and arms trying to get me to play blocks with him. He even helps spray the floor when I mop and folds the laundry (more like crumples the laundry). My day went so much better today, when I felt like I spent the whole day with Trenton. Even the terrible two tantrums have gone down in the last couple days! Amazing!!!

Late Christmas Pictures

Sadly I'm finally posting stuff from Christmas! It was so much fun this year with Trenton. He loved opening all the presents, and loved his main present, a train set! We had fun with Nyk's family Christmas Eve and fun with my family later on Christmas Day! I only really have pictures of our own little Christmas, but they sure are cute!Here are my boys all dressed up for church the Sunday after Christmas. Trenton can no longer take a picture without giving me the cheesy smile! I was lucky to get the second with his eyes not squinting.
